After Ballinabrackey's Seniors done the job on Saturday evening, Sunday morning it was the turn of their Junior team to get the business done with a Semi-final place on the line for whichever team came out on top of their round 3 encounter with Blackhall Gaels.

As the teams emerged from the dressing rooms in The Boyne Park, we waited to see who would have the advantage on another blustery morning. It was Blackhall who had the wind behind them for the first half. But it was Dean McNamee who got us off to a start with a point from play. Blackhall weren't too fair behind getting their first score from play before following that up with a two-pointed free. With tweleve minutes on the clock we were back level after both McNamee and Dean Coyne adding points to Ballinabrackey's tally. Blackhall were answering point for point keeping their noses just infront as they added two more scores from open play. David Thompson was up next to bring it back to the minium. Blackhall answered straight back with two points, one from a placed ball and the other from play. Shane Lee set the game on fire with 25 minutes gone as he rattled the back of the net to bring us back level on the scoreboard. Ronan Thompson slotted over a point to give The Bracks the lead for the first time in the game since the open couple of mintues. As the clocked ticked closer to the half-time whistle it was Blackhall who found the last score of the half, sending us into the dressing rooms with nothing between the sides.
Half-time score Ballinabrackey 1-05 Blackhall Gaels 0-08

Ballinabrackey had the wind behind them in the second half and used it very much to their advantage. They came out of the dressing after the break with their foot on the throttle and didn't let up at all. Craig Thompson opned the scoring of the half by raising the green flag nearly bursting the net. David Thompson followed it up scoring a two-pointer. Ballinabrackey scored another four witout reply as, Cathal Monahan, Dean Coyne, Craig Thompson and Dean McNamee all keeping the score board ticking for the home side. Ten minutes into the second-half and Craig Thompson was adding more to his tally as he found the back of the net for the second time. The Bracks showed some amazing team work as they moved the ball up the pitch, a ball into a tumbling Shane Lee who hand passed to ball in to David Thompson who sealed it off with another goal. Blackhall got their first score of the game as the clock entered the last ten minutes of the game. This seemed to get them into a flow as they followed up with another point and a goal of their own. Not wanting to be left out of the party Ben Monahan found his shot flying over the blackspot, less than a minute later he had the Blackhall goalkeeper picking the ball up from the back of the net for the fifth time within the game. A number of changes for the Ballinabrackey squad who had their place in this years semi-final confirmed saw Paddy Killaly and Stephen Gill come in. As we edged nearer and nearer the end of the game it was Dean Coyne who got the last score of the day giving Ballinabrackey a 15 point win.
